A long awaited footbridge over the Cudgegong River has come to fruition in Rylstone, with Bathurst MP Paul Toole saying that it’s the good news the bridge is now completed and being used by locals and visitors.

An official opening and celebration is planned for the bridge later in the year.

Almost half a million dollars from the State Government was announced for the project by Mr Toole in 2018, with The 88 metre x 2.5 metre steel pedestrian footbridge built off-site to allow for minimal disruption to traffic and road movements.

Mid-Western Councilor, Peter Shelly, has been pushing for the safe crossing over the river for a long time and says local are excited.

He also says that with COVID restrictions easing, the Kandos and Rylstone area are also looking forward to welcoming back visitors this weekend.
