The Dixons Long Point crossing project has received additional funding of $4 million as part of the Australian Government’s latest infrastructure package to tackle congestion and make regional roads safer.

The project includes construction of a bridge over the Macquarie River at Dixons Long Point, and the upgrade and paving of the road on either side of the river.

Andrew Gee says the funds have already been made available to Mid-Western Regional Council, who will now call for tenders

Mr Gee says that the initial costing for the project was $20 million so this extra $4 million on top of the $16 million announced in this year’s budget is an early and welcome Christmas present.
