Federal Member for Calare, Andrew Gee, was at the Mudgee railway station on Friday, to formally make the announcement that the Districts Vietnam Veterans, Peacekeepers and Peacemakers Association (VVPPA) has received a government grant of over $10,000.

The funding is to provide the necessary support for office supplies and wages to some office staff, to keep the association going.

Mr Gee says "$10,300 goes to help them continue their important work ion supporting our local veterans and the veteran community".

"The work that they do is all important because it recognises that care for our veterans just doesn't stop when active service ends and when they come back from overseas. This organisation in Mudgee is all about supporting them through their lives after service".

Multiple members on the day also expressed how important an organisation such as this is to improve and support mental health for those coming back from service.
