All 5 candidates vying for the seat of Dubbo were at a community forum in Mudgee on Friday Night.

Around 100 people gathered at the forum organised by 3rd party lobby group Anyone but Nats  to listen to the speakers, with questions asked on a number of topics from the audience

The first question of the night was on the issue of Coal Seam Gas exploration, with all 5 candidates saying they were against the controversial practice.  Lara Quealy from the Shooters, Fishers & Farmers Party put it simply, saying “You can’t eat gas”.

Other Topics discussed were Health & Aged care, Cuts to TAFE services and Climate Change.

The night took a turn however, when the local Nationals Branch chairman attacked the organisers of the event, Sandy Walker asking the organisers why they have a problem with the National Party, and what gave them the right to use similar branding.

Rohan Boehm replying that he would take that as a comment, and that questions should only be directed to the 5 candidates.

The Nationals Candidate, Dugald Saunders says he had no issue being there, telling those in attendance that taking questions and fronting up to the community is what being a representative is about.

The NSW state election will be held on March 23.
