The Gulgong Gold Experience is set to receive $150,000 from the Federal Government to develop the site and remain in operation.

Member For Calare, Andrew Gee, made the funding announcement on Friday of the changes soon to be made.

He says "we will turn the Miner's Cottage, built around the 1870's, into the Tourist Information Centre as well as tea rooms and a gift shop".

Mr Gee praised the persistence of the volunteers from Gulgong Gold experience in advocating for funding over a number of years.

He also expressed how the Miner’s Cottage development would help attract more visitors to Gulgong and it’s many history-related attractions, at a time when all tourism operators are looking to recover after being badly hit by COVID-19.
