Mudgee’s COVID-19 Respiratory Clinic officially commenced operation on Wednesday, and has already had multiple patients walk through the doors.
The Federal Governments Western NSW Primary Health Network are part of the organisers of the clinic, with their CEO Andrew Harvey in Mudgee on Wednesday.
He told 2MG news that the first day was fully booked out, and that under current health guidelines, anyone with a form of cough, sore throat or other flu like symptoms should be tested.
Mr Harvey also took the opportunity to remind locals with other unrelated medical issues not to put of going to see their regular GP.
Meanwhile, all Coal mines in our region have also supported the clinic by contributing funding towards Personal Protective Equipment that will be used.
Representatives from Moolarben, Wilpinjong and Ulan coal all visited the facility yesterday.
A Spokesperson for Yancoal told us that they felt the need to help out with this clinic due to having coal miners living in our community. They say they have also put a lot of measures in place with mines and staff.
Bookings can be made by calling 0417 072 652, with the Respiratory Clinic operating 7 days a week from 9am until 1pm.
